Arsonists Get All the Girls: The game of life

02/08/07  ||  Euthanatos

What a great band name. Really, that’s some creative shit. These good humored fellas make some quality metal with a lot of grind and hardcore influence. This is, if I’m not mistaken, their second album.

The vocals are the first thing to immediately stand out, with desperate, high-pitched screams, I almost feel like hugging the guy and telling him it’s going to be over soon. There are also some deep, evil growls that would make Chris Barnes crawl under his bed.

Like I said, Arsonists Get All the Girls basically focus on death metal, but they have no shame in spicing things up with whatever comes into their schizo minds. There are some electronic parts, not dancehall stuff, it’s all bizarre, twisted sounds, the product of disturbed individuals. And that’s really cool.

The jazzy breakdowns performed here surprise the listener and are clear evidence of the bandmembers’ excellent technique. It’s not easy making noise sound coherent and chaotic at the same time, all with precise timing. Very impressive.

“Cuffed To Your Ankles” is a great track for the listener to check out if he wants to know what this band is about. It mixes all of the album’s sound in one powerful song, full of innuendo, different movements and pure rage.

Arsonists Get All the Girls is probably one of the most original acts I’ve heard all year, so if you’re looking for something that doesn’t quite fit “in the box”, you best check these fuckers out.

The cover: A drawing of a bunny either watching television or about to go into a microwave and explode into a million pieces of blood and fluff. Insane as the music.

8 Run, rabbit, run. Run, rabbit. Run, rabbit. Run rabbit. Run, rabbit, run! RUN, RABBIT, RUN! out of 10.
